Schlimmer geht immer , oder auch nicht …

Zimmer lieblos , klein , muffig und ohne jeglichen Stauraum. Frühstück mangelhaft - keine Abwechslung, jeden Tag 4 Scheiben Weißbrot und Marmelade(10 Tage lang). „Gastgeber“ sitzen den ganzen Tag herum und spielen Karten. Außenanlagen verwahrlost . Wir sind 3 Tage vorher abgereist wegen einem streik- trotz Geld zurück Zusage warten wir bis heute. Nie wieder !

Mycket missnöjda

Fint läge med brant backe ner till 2 stränder där vi föredrog Velanio beach. Vi hade dock ingen bra upplevelse alls av hotellet. Ansvarig var inte kundvänlig, skyllde ifrån sig på annat vid problem, ingen kompensation eller förståelse. Strömmen slutade fungera första natten med följd ingen AC samt kyl/frys började droppa ut på golvet. Vi hade bla. känslig medicin i kylskåpet som inte fick värmas där vi lyckats ta oss genom hela resan ner med tillräcklig kyla. Fanns ingen att kontakta förrän på morgonen och då skyllde värden på allmänt strömavbrott men vi satt på balkongen under natten där alla andras AC fungerade samt att belysningen i matsalen lyste. Fick inte heller den utlovade frukosten som ingick kl 8 då de skyllde på strömmen men deras kylskåp var fullt fungerande när jag fick lov lägga in min medicin där tillfälligt tills vår ström bar fixad. En annan dag rann AC-vatten ner i resväskan nedanför då den gått sönder under dagen (fanns inte plats för väskorna på annan plats). Först skulle vi få byta rum då de såg hur det rann men det beskedet ändrades inom 10 minuter, vi fick bli kvar då de menade att det torkade upp efter en stunds avstängning. Redan första dagen = tisdag påtalade vi att badrumslampan var sönder samt att den enda glödlampa som lyste helt plötsligt släcktes efter en stund, blev åtgärdat på fredagen. Förutom dessa konkreta exempel så stämde inte standarden med beskrivning och bilder på rummen, var i sämre och skitigare skick, ingen trivselfaktor alls. Bubbelpoolen fungerade inte, fågelskit på solbäddarna som bestod av tygsäckar. Tv fanns men inga kanaler, krävs egna appar att koppla upp, liten frukost erbjöds men kokta äggen var gröna och kokta dagen innan, enbart en dag kokta precis innan frukost på hela veckan. Räkna inte med att kunna hänga upp kläderna, liten hängare i hallen, du får fråga i matsalen glas till rummet. Toaletten städades inte varje dag, handdukar, lakan saknades och fick påtalas. Vår vecka 2 hade vi bokat annat hotell, samma klassning och inte ett enda problem, kändes som oerhörd lyx efter denna miss.

Wonderful stay and people

This review is based on its 2 star rating. The hotel sits on the main road (no noise) at the top of the hill in Stafylos. The hotel gives views across the bay with every room having a balcony and stunning views. One downside of the hotel is that there are 38 steep steps down from the road to the entrance of the hotel and further steps in the hotel. We are in our mid sixties and managed it. Christina the owner and manager, and Dina her assistant are happy to help with the moving of the cases to your room. The rooms are basic but they are spotless and very comfortable. In fact all the years we have been travelling to Greece, staying in budget accomodation, this is the most comfortiest bed we have slept in. All rooms have air conditioning (free) and wifi (slow). We never mastered the use of the TV, but as we were out most evenings it didn't bother us. The rooms have been refurbished sympathetically. Bins emptied daily and rooms tidied, with towels and sheets changed several times during our stay. The breakfast is a buffet served on trays, not self service. I suspect that this is done to keep costs down and isn't a bad thing. If you want anything different all you need to do is ask. We had fried eggs, cheese and meat, orange juice, fruit and coffee, served with a smile. Served on a terrace if not to hot! There is hanging space, shelfs, bedside cabinets and a dressing table in the room. There is no safe in the room, this needs to be addressed as most insurance will not cover loss unless it is kept safely. Fortunately our cases have locks on. Copious hot water but the shower rose is hand held like many in Greece. The hotel has a newly installed pool and relaxation area but we did not use it. Stafylos has 2 restaurants. We fully recommend Tepsis, family run, superb food and lovely people. We ate once at the one nearest the beach, it was ok. There is no supermarket in Stafylos. The nearest one is a very long walk, several miles along the main road. Stafylos main beach is probably one of the best on the island, good snorkelling and has a beach bar and sunbeds (12 euros a day). We hired a car via Christina for 5 days. There is a bus service close to the hotel but the regularity depends on what time of year you stay. The moral of the review is that if you need anything or are unhappy speak to Cristina. Her team are superb, willing to help. All you have to do is ask. It is a 2 star rated hotel and this is what it should be judged on. Some negative reviews do not match our own experience. If you want 4 or 5 star luxury, pay for it. Skopelos is a wonderful Island. Will we return, absolutely. Will we stay at the Ariadne, absolutely.

Not as in brochure

The top reviews on this hotel cannot possibly be genuine and must have been posted by friends of the establishment. Some of our findings below. No high-Level shower rose holder Poor breakfast Dangerous doorway to death, unlocked door to no balcony, steps or safeguard signs. Broken light switch Far too many steps to reach hotel 39 Too many steps to swimming pool Hotel jaded and neglected. Brochure says breakfast is buffet - totally wrong, you get what you’re served!! Breakfast tables not very clean Breakfast choice extremely limited and served to table on a tray, 1 boiled egg, one hot drink, crust of bread, small glass of fruit juice, 1 slice of ham and 1 cheese slice, melon chunks and jam pots - each guest. No plates to eat off, had to use saucer from teacup!! No glasses or cups in bathroom or room. TV difficult to operate, could not get it to work No welcome pamphlet in room Catch hanging off balcony door No emergency instructions Nice view though ! Hotel impossible to access for elderly or infirm, no disabled access at all. This hotel is all about steps, no banisters on external staircases. Beach is very steep downhill - as is often the case on Greek islands - but this was exceptionally steep, not for the infirm. After staying only 2 nights, we handed in our keys and told two girls on reception that the hotel is not suitable, especially the steps, they just said sorry, goodbye! We immediately booked somewhere else.

Beautiful place

Only have the best positive experience. Everything was amazing. Christina the owner and her husband want you to feel as you are home.
