I expected more, not value for money

I expected more from Valamar, this property unfortunately is not value for money, it is too expensive for a 3 star hotel, 200 EUR per night and I wouldn’t pay this amount again. Hotel was “renovated” or rather freshened up, complete renovation wasn’t done, especially in the bathroom. Bathroom of the room is like Yugoslavia meets 21st century, old tiles were just painted over, they left the old mirror, changed only toilet, sink and tub and put that awful shower curtain, instead it would have been the best if they had installed a wall to wall walk in shower with overhead shower and sliding doors or only with glass barrier, they didn’t even bother to fix uneven ceiling, the ventilation cover is from 1962., they put cold white light instead of warm white light both in the bathroom and the hallways so for example the hallway looks like in a hospital. The window between bathroom and room looks terrible and should have been closed completely as it is unnecessary and looks ugly. Mattress is rock hard, I think the floor is softer than the mattress and pillows are the cheapest ones they could buy, 100% polyester ones which are not supporting the head and you feel you will die from the heat they give you, I never slept worse in a hotel. The hotel restaurant should be called “The ice chamber” because it is freezing cold,it was 38 degrees outside and they put air conditioners on 23 degrees, I was sick after two days as I had to stand in line for food for 20 minutes under the freezing air, when it is so hot outside the air cons shouldn’t be below 26/27 degrees, I’d rather be hot while I eat instead of sick on a vacation, and of course once you exit the restaurant you feel like you will get a heat stroke. Food is ok, nothing special, every day the same, the problem was that there wasn’t enough quantity of main dishes so there was constantly people in line waiting for the food, warm dishes should be served in both parts of the restaurant. All in all, location of the hotel is great, I would consider coming again if they addressed the above issues and if the price was lower because now you don’t get what you pay, next time I would bring my own pillows otherwise no sleep.

More then expected

As a family Sunny Resort meets all of our expectations. The Resort is basically fresh renovated which adds to the positive experience. The employees are very friendly and helpful. We are definitely planning to come back again! Don’t let the “low budget” description fool you ;)

Our stay in Makarska Sunny Resort

We were very pleased with our stay here at Makarska Sunny Resort. I must say that I had a really nice time with my family. Wa stayed here for 5 nights (6 days) and we enjoyed it very much. Rooms are very clean, with a nice view. Every morning we would wake up with such a beautiful view. And I must mention the squirrels on the trees - adorable. We booked a Superior room 2+2 with options of buffet breakfast/brunch and dinner. We liked the food there, especially fish and pizzas. It would be better to have a juice and water machine because of the kids, but you can buy drinks so it's not a problem. Our room was always very clean I must say. And the cleaning ladies would say hi to us and chat every morning. Our children (7 and 9) had so much fun playing in gameroom and the softplay area (open 10-22h). The guys and a lady who work there were so nice and friendly to our kids, they played UNO together. Big thanks to all the staff who made our vacation a memorable one! I'm sure we will be back!

Big thanks to the animation team of Makarska Valamar resort. The team is phenomenal,and Marko made our vacation complete and so fun. Food is very good. Rooms are big enought and nature is just amazing. We cant wait to come back. Thank you so much!

Holiday in Valamar’s Sunny Resort Makarska

Nice and quiet family resort. Everything from furniture is new. They have proffesional staff and delicious food including breakfast, lunch and dinner which is great too. Lot of different cookies and fruits. Beaches are close to the hotel and you can find a lot of shade there.
